About Me

Two handcrafted knives with polished blades and wooden handles on a gray surface.

I am a retired firefighter from Elk City Fire Department after 22 years of service.

My dad started my interest in making knives back in 1986. I started by using blades ready for guards and handles. I sold my first few knives then was asked to make a particular blade for a customer. I ordered a grinder and made my first blade in 1987, but it didn't look like Bob Loveless' knife!

I attended the Texas Knifemakers Guild show that year and met my mentor, Corbin Newcomb. Corbin taught me to hollow grind my blades. If it wasn't for Corbin Newcomb I would not be making knives today.

The above knives are the two Corbin and I ground on my first trip to his shop in Moberly Missouri in 1988.

Below are some knives I have made since then.
